It's funny, I never really labeled myself an XYZ style drummer......other than knowing my metal days stopped in the 90s. But you are 100% right, if it is blues or blues based rock or country I get a call and it is like putting on a comfortable pair of shoes......so I guess that is what I am. lol

I’m also guilty of intentionally not pinning myself into a corner. I love all sorts of music including old classical such as Corelli, Mozart, Schubert, Tchaikovsky! et al plus jazz, fusion and funk. Which is where blues sort of originated in a way.

Creedence, Grand Funk and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Seems like all the guitar players I jam with know those bands.
