If you have a table saw, one $8 2x6x8' will rip into (12) 3/4"x11/16"x8' pieces. That's 96' to build frames from.
I made 30+ pieces of picture frame wainscoting this way. Staples, Titebond, 45° end cuts, they would be plenty sturdy for wrapping in material and light enough to easily hang.
