805drummer, i personally like to tune my toms very low so they're just above being wrinkly. Very fat sound. Whatever you do, however, DON'T get a drumdial!

I can tune my snare and floor toms fine, but the stupid rim mount on my tom prevents me from finger tightening the lugs easily, so I can't tune by feel AT ALL. It makes it very difficult to get an even sound.

Yeah i know what you mean. The problem with most suspension mounts is that they are mounted in some way to the lug. Personally i think tama's StarCast system is very good because the suspension mount is held onto specialised holes on the rim. Really though i just take the drums off their mounts then i'll tighten the lugs until they touch the hoop, then i'll give them about 1/2 a turn, just about takes away the wrinkles and gives an amazing sound.

You have to learn to tap and listen....surely you can get the head seated and centered evenly.

Well, the Pinstripe tunes so easily, right now it has a decent sound. Eventually I'll just buy a new mount for it, or even take the mount off and put it on a snare stand. For now, I'm fine though.

Heres my ddrum kit from a recent gig...

Oh my god. That kit SCREAMS punk rock.

The acoustic guitar player in a church doesn't even whisper punk rock.

Really nice looking kit, though. I've yet to even hear a DDrum kit. How do you like it?

...Gotta go with the Plow on this one.
On another note, gorgeous kit.

I mean, he might not play punk rock. But that kit sure fits the bill in the looks department.

Yeah I love my ddrum kit... not just because i own it, but it seriously is a really great kit. Ive used it for different styles including Church stuff!! yeah we rock it out seriously! It definitely is great for the rock stuff which is what i usually play... but all around great kit, especially with my stewart copeland snare and the byzances... great combo!

The kits is a classic!...I can almost sense the spirit of Bonzo around them. The photo is excellent, looks great outdoors on the grass.

Thanks for the comments on my kit. This kit is the best kit I have owned. They are easy to tune, there really fun to play and I just love this kit. These things are frickin cannons!! I highly recommend the Ludwig Maple Classics to anyone that may be in the market for a new kit. Thanks again!!

Tama has always made really good drums. I had two sets of Tamas back in the eighties during my long haired rock n roll days. In fact my hi-hat stand is my Tama stand from years ago, I still use it because it is made so well and it is really comfortable to play I can't part from it. I really like the finish on your drums what is it called?

Great looking kits everybody Love that Buddy Rich Kit. Here's mine
