My favorite sticks

I modified a pair of VF American Custom SD1 General. Added O-rings in front and behind finger placement and added hard foam cylinders to the tip. Snare sounds same, toms sound more throaty and timpani like, cymbals (with rivets) sound the same but played soft they hiss & sizzle. I also use VF Steve Gadd wire brushes and Flix nylon brushes for some songs.

I just bought these 2 pair of Zildjian sticks last week. They are dipped in some kind of rubber material. Great grip as in...they dont move or slip.
Havent been to a drumshop in years and wanted to try some sticks out in person..new ones more apropos to where I am right now needing lighter thinner sticks.
Drum shop owner was showing me some sticks on the wall..but I looked at the tips on these and thought they are the kind I used to use back in the day w/slimmer tips. He said... he hated them..the rubber..
I think he was annoyed that I actually bought them..
Ringo model and 5A model just to check em out.
Dont know how they hold up to hard use...but am starting up a band for the first time in years and need something thats not a Bolero or 2B.
So far so good..
