Why do (my) posts get deleted?

I've noticing more of my post getting deleted lately...they were neither offensive or used inappropriate language. Admittedly, they were both jokey in nature but completely harmless, and one was just a GIF.

I've read the forum rules in detail, I don't see the violation. I'm posting public as I can't be the only one, I'm suspecting the forum is scrubbing post w/ media in order too keep cost down. If this is this correct, I missed this announcement and would be good to know for future reference, thx

There was a topic not long ago about post disappearing and old/inactive topics were deleted to free up server space, but i can't seem to find that topic.

I know why.

; ) What does s1212z mean?

It probably was deleted to free up server space…. 😉

Joking aside, I know that was an actual concern here and we had all the ads to supplement costs and that wasn't very popular...I'd like give the benefit of the doubt, and shouldn't have the general expectation that 'everything is free of cost' to use, I get that isn't fair. So it's a matter of donation or pay to play.

Probably fell into this category, then .......

"Please do not discuss extremely trivial matters. Do not post jokes or poetry. "

From the posted forum rules:

“If a post or thread is moved, edited, locked, or deleted, we are doing our job using discretion and our best judgment. Please do not argue with us or question our actions or decisions, and do not discuss deleted posts, banned members, or the moderation of the forum in your posts.”

“If you, in your best judgment, create a post or thread that is deleted from this or any other forum topic, understand that we have the final say regarding what is appropriate and what is not.”

“Realize that you will be held responsible for your own words. If your post is deleted for inappropriate language, please do not PM the Moderators telling us that we should have just edited your post. It is not unusual for us to have hundreds of visitors online at any given time, and editing everyone's posts is simply impractical, to say the least. If you spend 45 minutes writing a post and can't be bothered avoiding language that is not allowed here, you will have no one to blame but yourself when that post disappears."

"Sometimes posts are deleted simply because, in our estimation, there is no place for them here. Again, we have the final say over the content of this forum.”

And as Bernhard himself has said: ”Threads in the off topic lounge are deleted and brushed off from time to time without further notice. So be sure to backup meaningful thoughts all the time, before they're gone.”

Please do not argue with us or question our actions or decisions, and do not discuss deleted posts,
Hi Thomas,
So I'm breaking the rules by just asking here then...I'll discuss this more off-line then and assumingly this entire thread will get deleted. From a community perspective, the boundary in these instances were not clear to me. In the interest myself not having to get filtered, and the mod having to do the dirty work of chasing the post down, perhaps a PM would be helpful to keep within expectations of what the issue is when some of these post get deleted.

Yes, I understand. From my perspective, the entire point of this forum is to have helpful conversations about drummers and drumming. There are about a thousand ways that can veer into left field. I could list them here, but I can also assume that you can guess most of them. As detailed as the rules may be, I rounded them all off by saying that sometimes things get deleted, so keep that in mind when posting here.

All good contributions about drummers and drumming remain, and will remain. Use your best judgement with everything else. There are never any personal feelings involved in the moderation of this forum. I appreciate this community more than I can say. Send me a PM if you ever want to chat.

Is Rod Serling the forum administrator?...its the only logical explanation. You may think you were part of a drum forum but you were about to enter another zone....the Twilight zone. 😨.

So the question has been asked and answered and now we veer into bizzarro land. Time to put this one to rest. Thanks to everyone who participates in good faith.
