What's your latest purchase?

Understood, and, already done. I have learned much since, here and elsewhere.

That pic is from the first day. :D

Also, thanks!

There is no right or wrong way to set drums up but there are better ways in my humble opinion. Look at some photos on line or here, and try to get your rack toms flatter and closer. It will just make moving around the set easier.

Picked up a DW Low Pro Traveller Kit today . I was looking for something very portable to use at some rehearsals I do on a weekly basis . It sounds far better than I expected and I assume once I swap out the stock heads for some new Remo heads , it will sound even better . I won’t use the include “snare” drum . I will use one of my snare drums with it instead .
The Rolling case is really cool.

What is it with 21” rides ? I have rarely heard a bad 21” ride cymbal from any manufacturer . Wish they would make more models in 21”
I'm with you Rick. If I was limited to only 1 ride, it would be a 21.
20's are OK, but just a touch too small for my preferences. A 22 is nice too. But the 21 is the Goldilocks ride for me.

A week ago my dad decided he needed to buy me a real gong in order to meet some sort of airline miles credit card spending quota. So we ended up with a 38” Paiste Symphonic Gong. No he’s not a musician, but we did build the stand together! And wow, this thing is truly spectacular. Never heard anything like it. So many colors!

I had my friend Billy Baker make this shell up for me. Black Nickel over brass.
Put it together last night. Badge to match the rest of my gear.
I will NEVER sell this drum!
I've never had a straight shelled metal snare. It sounds amazing!

Ibanez Mikro short scaled bass for my short scaled wife. Wanted to get her the purple, they only had blue. I'll probably play it as much if not more than her.

"Needed to buy me a real gong"...CLASSIC! I'm uber-jealous.

I've had a couple Mikros. They sound great. Big sound from a small bass.
Just a little too cramped, size-wise for me though.

Glad to hear this. My short scale choices were limited. A few were too expensive, some seemed cheap. The Mikro seemed to be in the Goldilocks zone so I bought it.

My wife has small hands, she is 5'-3". I think it will be just fine for her. I bought her a pistol once, a Steyr M9-A1. It was too big. She doesn't have it anymore. She likes the bass so far. She even told me where on the wall to hang it. I think it's gonna stay.
