Squeaky DW 8000

I bought a DW 8000 off Ebay and it squeaks a lot. Any ideas on how to address the problem, other than sending the pedal back to the seller? I've read a few threads talking about using sewing machine oil at all the friction points. Good idea? I swear when I listen to it, it sounds like the spring is squeaking. Is that possible?

Any thoughts appreciated

I had a similar problem, my double pedals were squeaking quite badly (this was mapex pedals though).

What I did was that I placed the pedals on some newspapers, knewing it was gonna get messy.

Then I basically went over the whole thing with sewing machine oil (like you mentioned). Things like bike oil or what-not probably works just as well. I wanted to be thorough so I took out all screws and oiled the holes, as well as all parts which looked like they could cause any kind of friction.

Now it is soundless, so it seems I hit the spot.
