I'm about to assemble a new old 4 piece. Will post a pic later. Will be nothing to look at because it is a low end kit. But, it is fun for me.
Kit is new old cuz: a few years ago, I bought a low end Roadshow kit, which I loved, and cut all the shells, with no resos. Yup. Made it more nestable, and it was all about portability and gig ease. The new old kit is the same bass drum, but with selected new shell sizes - that I won't cut. 12" small tom, 14" shallow large tom, 18" bass drum, 13" snare.
Just put Aquarian heads everywhere. Nothing like fresh heads tuned right.
Although this is a six piece kit, there are times that it makes sense to only use four pieces. Gretsch USA Custom 12", 14", 22", a Gretsch USA Stanton Moore Signature snare drum, DW 6000 Ultra light hardware, and Zildjian K Constantinople series cymbals.
