Scaffold Clamp Drum Rack

Can you build a drum rack out of scaffold clamps? Are there any manufacturers that produce the right adapters for drum mounts. I think scaffolds are 1". Also, if so what kind of pipe would you use, is scaffold pipe overkill? Could you use some other type of tubing, that is lighter and looks better?

Yamaha's old racks had 1" pipes, I believe. I think the old Collarlock racks did too. May have been 1.25" though

if you're never going to move it, scaffold pipe could work. But it's typically much thicker and heavier than the thin-walled chrome steel pipe used in drum racks. I would not recommend using it to gig with, unless you have your own road crew to move it for you.

Yeap, there's such a company in my town. I discovered petesuen.com after being turned down by another rental company. Well, I was building my house, and the building company didn't have any equipment for supporting workers and materials at high-rise sites. So, I contacted the company mentioned above to see if they could assist me. A team of workers came and installed the scaffolding. They even stayed late to ensure that I had everything I needed to continue working. Exceptional client service! I'm really pleased with their approach.
