BB&T Atlanta Open - Michelob Ultra Beer Pavilion
I play in a modern rock cover band called Suburban Angst. Here is a pic of me playing my red black to fade PDP kit by DW. We played the BB&T Atlanta Tennis Open in Atlanta this past July.
The maiden voyage of the DWs ( kit photo taken with a potato). We booked a "favor for a friend" gig at a small town bar, located across the street from Ohio Wesleyan Univ., 30 mins north of Columbus. The crowd went from 50 to 250 students in 15 minutes! Crazy Night! We all wished we were 20 years younger.
I am about to attend my high school 50th anniversary reunion. One of the things we will be doing is getting musicians together to form a band and play a set or two. I was in a band in high school but all of the former members are deceased except myself. So, I will be playing with other guys and girls. We will be playing music of the era. It should be fun. I'll post pics afterward.
Here a couple from way back. One is with Obnosticon with my vintage clear Fibes, and the other is even older, with Old James in Minneapolis with my old Yamaha kit (and taller cymbals)
Ah, I see you're sporting new facial fungus, & the lack of bass drum resonant head will doubtless please the Eder camp. Or should that be the camp Eder - not sure, never met him
This is me playing at a Midnight Ramble. We opened up for Levon Helm and his band. That's me playing Levon's drum kit. That's Mike Merritt on Bass (Levon's Bass Player at the time and now plays with Max Weinberg in Conan O'Brien's Band).
What an honor it was playing there and playing Levon's kit, surreal actually. I miss Levon, he was an amazing man with a huge heart and a friend.
