L-Rod Size

I want to buy a tom stand to hold two of my toms. I want it to mount my 10" and 12" toms. When I went into my local music shop they asked me what size L-Rods I have and I have no idea. My question to you guys is, how do I figure out what size L-Rods I have? I have Ludwig drums FYI.

That... complicates things. There's three common sizes that have been used over the years: 9.5mm, 10.5mm, and 12.7mm. At various times, Ludwig has used all three.

A normal cowbell post is 9.5mm. A cymbal boom arm is usually 12.7mm in diameter. If your tom arm is thicker than a cowbell post and thinner than a cymbal boom arm, it's likely 10.5mm.
