At first my wife couldn’t believe I would sell the MHX . Meet Fizzgig our latest puppy! The MHX is now in a recording studio permanently 8 miles from my house and the new owner said I’m welcome to visit anytime.
Not to speak for Stickflailer, but the Pearl Masters Mahogany Classic MHX kits consisted of 4 ply African Mahogany shells with 4 ply Maple re-rings (5mm+5mm).School me on the shells...support hoop?.
And they were sold...well?...drummers do sell gear but those!?...deep breath. Not to speak for Stickflailer, but the Pearl Masters Mahogany Classic MHX kits consisted of 4 ply African Mahogany shells with 4 ply Maple re-rings (5mm+5mm).
Yeah, beautiful set.And they were sold...well?...drummers do sell gear but those!?...deep breath.
Thank you Kevin, for the past year or so I have been slowly letting gear go.Selling the MHX wasn’t easy but I just didn’t gig with it as much as the 2 other kits I own. Fizzgig has brought so much joy to our lives that can’t be measured. I had a fall in my home 3weeks ago and thought I tore a rotator cuff but it’s not serious (no surgery needed) i just feel like a tackle dummy. It’s healing fine so it’s great news. Rehab is 4 to 6 mo for a completely torn rotator cuff.Congrats on the new puppy, and selling your Masters MHX kit P!
Fizzgig looks like quite a little cutie, I love the The Dark Crystal as well.
I think that you did great selling the MHX for $2,200 cash.
Super awesome that it's going to live at a near by studio with an open invitation for you to visit.
Say hi to K for me, and I hope that everyone is doing well.![]()
Getting to know a new pup is always fun. Is Fizzgig a Lhasa Apso?
I'm a sucker for wood grain, and mahogany especially. They don't have the stage presence of a silver sparkle or white marine pearl set, but my drums don't spend much time under stage lights anyway. Slow, deep breath pretty much says it all, for me anyway.

That is so true, my wife gives me the eye roll and the is this going to be it speach? My answer ….. Ah probably not.I've probably bought and sold a dozen kits over my lifetime. Once you get rid of a gem, start looking for a new one. It's half the fun of drumming.
Not for the foreseeable future. I have 2 full sets of drums now and to be honest I’m not giging as much as I used to and if I’m not going to use them why look at them on a shelf? The MHX drums are incredible in every way but I have always preferred Maple. Are you getting another set?
