Help Getting This Crash Sound

Hi, new to the forum so excuse my formatting. I'm in the market for a new crash, and there's a really specific sound I want. You can hear this sound on Buck Meek's album Two Saviors--I've added a link to the first song, which has a prominent example in the first 20 seconds.

It's dark and very dry, but not trashy to my ears. Slow and washy, but not gong. I'm sure a lot of it is down to the room sound. Wondering if anyone can give me some pointers or search terms to help me narrow things down. What characteristics or brands/series' should I keep an eye on?

Thanks!

I hear a little hint of trash cymbal sound in that recording.
It sounds like my 18" Zildjian ZHT EFX lightly hit.
The recording of teh cymbal crash is not very good. Give us another clearer cynbal crash sound.
Also go to mycymbal.com and listen to cymbals until you find the right one. Great website.

.

" sounds like a 20" nickle-silver set horizontally and hit with a multi-rod" (with an empty soup-can on the end)
lemme listen again
Get the drummers name look up pictures of him performing and it'll probably be up there somewhere in his set.

Whats the drummers name
and they don't sound like Sticks to me some type of multi rod +/-
could be part of that cym's sound..

Drummer is Austin Vaughn should have a picture odd cym + might be in it.

There he is with a mallet so I may'nt be too far off
He's pretty popular

I think you find a Nickle silver 18/20 and strike it with a Yarn mallet
there's various cymbal pics on his (?) Instagram->
Looks like one you might find on the bottom of the stack in a Used Section- seems he likes the unusual

that looks like one of those 'Re Mix" Zildjian series for Bass & Drums
could be that

Bet if you asking him - on Instagram about that specific- track he may recall what it was and what he hit it with etc- for you-->
probably some oop out of production cymbal you could find used
a standard 17" med thin A used..
keeping in mind never going to duplicate the entire situation (something he and many admit to) It was that day that room...

thank you! I'll look into all of this. he does have a very unusual sound that I'm really inspired by. I know I won't get that exact tone, but hoping to incorporate something similar in my setup
