got myself DW50th Carbon Fiber 5000

i couldn't resist grabbing one of these! I love Carbon Fiber... on all of my cars to my wedding ring.. I love carbon fiber.
So when DW released this I said I needed one! So I got one and this weekend I opened her up and did a video about my thoughts and some photos.

I think DW did an awesome job.. but if I could change one thing.. I would have made a matching carbon fiber beater!!! That would be sick!!

Anyone else purchase one? What do you think of it?

A carbon fiber version of the beater itself is a fantastic idea. I played the thin Tama iron cobra beaters for years and recently got my first dw pedal to which I was amazed at how heavy and slow the beater is.

DW pedals feel heavy compared to other pedals, so that would be a huge plus.

80 bucks for a carbon fiber beater vs a 20 buck synthetic wood beater?..well?..being a Vette guy I'll take the carbon fiber beater just to be cool.

I'm waiting to see a heavy hitter snap that pedal board. Not that carbon fiber couldn't handle 99% of what most drummers will throw at it, but it's the 1% that has me curious.

What's the price difference to a regular 5k? Can you just order the footboard & swap out the metal one I have?

Yeah I don't see these snapping but that is an interesting point. You cannot just buy the footboard to swap them out to my knowledge no.
Price different is $250 for standard and $450 for CF... so $200 difference

Ya, if it comes with the standard dwsm101 beater like my 5000ad4 model….that sucker is heavy. It’s like 105 grams. I swapped the beater for an 87 gram pearl eliminator beater and it’s like greased lightning now. Way faster
