Not really South SFO, but if I was anywhere in SFO I'd try and make it out to Mill Valley:

Once upon a time, I took 2 subways and a bus, then walked to take lessons from a guy in Lexington MA. It was worth the effort.

I teach drums at Bell Percussion, London, UK.

Lessons are individually tailored to each student's specific requirements and I deal with intermediate to advanced level players.

After every lesson you will receive a personal appraisal of issues covered and areas for development, together with notation examples etc.

There's a strong emphasis on jazz and big band playing, although practically all of my techniques and concepts are not 'genre specific' and can be easily adapted to any musical context of your choosing.

I also specialise in creativity, improvisation and my own system of hand technique which is geared to optimising control, relaxation and best possible tone quality from the drums and cymbals.

As we all absorb material at different rates the regularity of your lessons is up to you. Often a 'one off' diagnosis can keep you busy for a couple of years!

33 years teaching experience, 21 years teaching at college degree level. Vast experience on clinics and drum camps as well.Contact me here for more details of find me on Facebook and Twitter.

Cool, man! I love Bell Percussion; great people, great service and always up for cool banter. I'm also a private drum tutor based in Acton, London. It's always great to know drummers in the area! I'll post my details now, perhaps we can meet up - we probably have mates in common! :)

My name is Nicholas Schlesinger, a West London based private drum tutor.

I teach beginners to advanced, and whilst I deal with most aspects of the drum kit (i.e. styles, technique, creativity and groove), I really enjoy teaching helping students improve their feel, improvisation, creative use of rudiments, musicality and performance.

I teach from my home in Acton (London, W3) but can also travel to students' houses if they have a kit at home.

Anybody know any good teachers in Southern New Jersey?

Hi guys
I'm Nick, a British born professionally qualified drum teacher and musician with around 25 years' teaching experience both in schools and privately, and nearly 30 years' performing experience at the highest level. I currently teach out of my studio in Wimbledon South London where I have been offering the highest quality drum tuition since 2003.
I am passionate about music and my students' development and guarantee that you will learn things with me that you will not get anywhere else, whatever your level!

I am a member of the Musician's Union and am fully DBS/CRB checked. I have also completed Child Protection Awareness Training.

All aspects of modern drumming are covered in the most comprehensive drum lessons available. Whether you are a complete beginner or advanced player you are guaranteed to make fast progress and be challenged to reach your full potential. Each lesson is tailored to the individual to ensure the most effective results, all in a fun and relaxed environment. The studio is equipped with two top of the range Sonor acoustic drum kits, P.A. backing tracks and sequencers running off a Mac and Logic pro, basically everything we need to prepare you to be the best drummer and musician you can be.

For younger students I have developed my own system, which ensures that they are playing and understanding within the first lesson, and most of all having fun!

Over the years I have taught literally hundreds of students and come highly recommended. Past students include professional players and other drum teachers, not to mention actors from TV and film and performance artists (West End). I also have comprehensive experience of teaching people with a wide range of disabilities.

You can be confident that you will be getting the very best tuition available from a professional and should not settle for any less!
I am a member of cutting edge bands Linear Sphere and X-Ray Quartet and do countless sessions and gigs as a sideman in the live jazz scene, and function band circuit.

A list of just some of the concepts we could cover:

- Preparation for grades and exams (including grades 1-8, GCSE, A-Level, Degree) – 100% success rate! It should be noted that I can prepare you for any qualification you chose but this will be an addition to the key material we will cover, unfortunately too many teachers follow and depend heavily on grade syllabuses as a matter of course for their teaching material. I do not.
- Playing along to songs and transcriptions
- In-depth analysis of all styles including rock, jazz, world music, metal, funk, fusion, drum and bass/modern electronic genres.
- Technique (including moeller system, posture, ergonomics etc)
- Groove
- Time keeping studies and working with click tracks and sequencers.
- Music theory (sight reading/chart interpretation)
- Application of all standard drum rudiments and hybrid rudiments (and most importantly learning how to apply them in unique and exciting ways)
- Double bass drum technique
- Advanced concepts including: linear, ostinatos, odd-time studies, polyrhythms, cross rhythms, metric modulation, creativity, rate work, soloing, developing parts, composition, drum programming, preparation for recording/going into the studio, and much more!

Student levels: beginner to very advanced.

Drum lessons covering Wimbledon, Kingston Upon Thames, Clapham, Wandsworth, Merton, Putney, Fulham, Surbiton, New Malden, Colliers Wood, Southfields, Raynes Park, Sutton, Morden, Roehampton, Barnes, Richmond, Tooting, Balham, Tolworth, Chessington, Mitcham and Battersea, South London and Surrey.
