I was at the 55 bar in NYC waiting to see Mike Stern - no drums or drummer yet in this tiny little bar. This a week after Santana won all the Grammys for Smooth. Saw him on TV with the great Rodney Holmes. The drummer arrives schlepping his drums down into this funky place - and it's Rodney Holmes.

When I was gigging, I dont really remember roadies. A few bands had them, most did not. This includes signed acts.
