Don't Stop Believin' - Journey was there number one highest selling song.

I prefere Seperate Ways - You may like another song it's all subjective.
  • 1981 – Journey – Don't Stop Believin' [Escape] – 27,230,000.
  • 1982 – Journey – Faithfully [Frontiers] – 7,000,000.
  • 1982 – Journey – Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) [Frontiers] – 5,440,000.
  • 1980 – Journey – Any Way You Want It [Departure] – 5,300,000.

IMO, Smoke on the Water is not even close to being one of Deep Purple's best songs (certainly the catchiest, though). How about Speed King (of course), Space Truckin', Woman from Tokyo, Stormbringer, Burn, Mary Long, Child in Time, Rat Bat Blue, Perfect Strangers, etc, etc!

Marillion - Kayleigh
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Supertramp - Take the long way home

Every Breath you Take- Police
nice video tho.
& subjective whether 'best' or not..

Silent Lucidity

definitely!!! Not even in their top 20 best songs!!!

and I would add that ANY song that was deemed a single, is probably not the bands best song/representation since singles are chosen to make money only. Becasue of this thought, I can't make a list b/c it would be too long...

It would probably be easier to list the hits that WERE the bands best songs....I will start that thread!!!

SAME!!!! I actually got into them at the EP, so I have been a lifer, but I feel like Rage gets overlooked...I mean, The Killing Words? By far one of the best QR songs ever....and their first epic balad -a nd I think the better one - is I Will Remember....

a few more to add

anything off of Def Leppards Hysteria
Under The Bridge/Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Crazy Train - Ozzy
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
Brass In Pocket - The Pretenders
Rock You Like A Hurricane - Scorpions
Owner of A Lonely Heart - Yes
You Give love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi
Renegade - Styx
We Are The Champions - Queen
18 and Life - Skid Row

Rush is perhaps best known for "Tom Sawyer" and "The Spirit of Radio", but personally, although I like both of those, I don't consider those their best songs.
