Arctic Monkeys - Live Cover

Recorded a 2 hour gig in recent days from the festival in questions mixing desk.

Got a rough mix today from a friend who’s mixing it for us as we might put it together with the footage also shot, in the meantime and I thought I’d share one songs audio.

My bands cover of The Arctic Monkeys ‘I Bet You Look Good on The Dancefloor’ recorded on the 26/8/23

A shitload of energy in your delivery. Dry desk stems draw the sonic image inwards suck the life out of a live performance. If you had either an ambient mic or a camera mic capture you can sync with the desk feed, it’s transformative. Great playing BTW:cool:

Thank you Andy

My friend currently mixing the gig found a ton of compression on most the multi tracks that he had to navigate. Which is probably why it sounds like it does. I do like the close and gritty element of it though.

He only spent an hour mixing this song, so I’m looking forward to the mix of the 2 hour set and the end results when that eventually comes back to us.

Hopefully we can have more backing vocals (bad mic bleed means they are low in the mix) in the final mix.

Agree that it would have been nicer with a stage / crowd mic just to pick up on some audience / stage noise but a very quick changeover meant we somewhat had to rush setting up and forgot to ask for one.

One of those things.

Also, 3/5 of my bandmates have never recorded before in any setting so hats off to them for doing that, with the added pressure of the whole gig recorded!

Regarding the energy, I get a very good workout in this band 😂 pretty much 2+ hours of this type of music each gig.

Great playing! I wouldn't be able to do 4 measures of the music you are executing, any justice.

Well done!!

Nice! I like how you have your snare setup, the rolls sound crispy.
