Trak by Remo?

Hi guys. I got a kit with a Trak bass drum head. It says Remo and USA in an older font.

I have tried searching and all I found was an eBay listing.

What are trak drum heads? A cheaper alternative? A model or style that was short lived? Something that’s become rebranded since then?

Hmm interesting, so I’ve got a Remo USA block dot head. I’m guessing they didn’t have an offshore cheaper alternative production at that time.

Trak had some "higher end" stuff too (well, at least higher end than basic beginner stuff) along with their own hardware. There was a guy locally on Craigslist a few months ago selling a TRAK kit with a lacquer finish with TRAK double braced hardware that looked pretty nice, although it had the massive 12" & 13" power toms.

Very cool kits, and I would say these are above a beginners class:

you guys tracked that down

From the photos of the time I always thought they were Tama-esque .......
Guy on eBay mentions these were made by Tama/Hoshino ......

Might just be true;)
