Room in a room build

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it finished with a kit inside!

Where do you live? That mountain view out your window is pretty sweet. EDIT: Ah I just read your earlier post. Beautiful place!

Can't wait to see the finished room!

The doors are finally installed. We used two heavy, solid core doors and then added a layer of 3/4" MDF with green glue. There are normal door seals, plus an insert on the bottom and an additional series of seals in the jamb that press against the MDF. Pretty serious business.

Inside I just hung some denim insulation on the walls to dampen the echo, which works quite well and is easy to deal with.

Regarding the isolation, it's a great success. You can hear the drums quietly in the adjacent room, but anywhere else is almost unnoticeable unless you are right next to the window. On the backside, toward the neighbors, it can barely be heard, even if I'm doing double bass 16ths. This was a heck of a project and not cheap, but I can practice whenever I want now without concern for bothering anyone.

That is super cool!

Hey mods, what happened to all the pictures? I think I pasted them to the site, not as external links. Kind of a bummer to lose my documentation!
