On what albums do you think every single song is excellent?

You like symphonic and classical music, listen to Death's Human album in order. The songs are written like different movements and the whole album flows really well. The song writing and musicianship is phenomenal. You probably won't like the growling.

"Metal" certainly is different these days. I, personally, do not like the growling. I think it has everything to do with the fact that I suffered with Barrett's esophagus for about 5/6 years. . .I'm certainly jealous of their abilities and power. But, I'd rather hear, Dream Theater or Maiden--A singer. Growlers scare me

To add: Grateful Dead--Europe '72 One of the greatest set of live Dead songs you can find. They were UP!, TIGHT! Wow
Phish--Junta. If you're going to listen to Phish, I would certainly suggest ANYTHING and EVERYTHING LIVE! But if you're going to listen to a studio album of their's, Junta is a good place to start.

Some great mentions. I'd add:

Audience - House on the Hill
Bob Dylan - Desire
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin
Gustav Holst - The Planets
Jeff Buckley - Grace
King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic

I'd rather hear, Dream Theater or Maiden--A singer.

To each their own, my friend, and your opinion is just as valid as anyone's. It's what you like and I'm not going to try and change it.

The best Dream Theater performance I've ever heard was from a MD drum fest where they played a medley of their big songs, without vocals. I just can't get into his vocals. I love the music hate the vocals.

I appreciate that. I'm sure as heck not knocking what metal players/singers do. I've seen some great musicians. You know, it's just not my flavor. I grew up hearing my dad's Al Green and Diana Ross records. Mom would dance around to disco. I did the 80s metal thing. I was headbanger in my day lol. I'm just older and mellowing a bit. Rock on bro!

I think I know the DT performance you're talking about. It might be on one of the dvds I have. . . .

well, every Rush album, but I am an admitted fanboi

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Fates Warning - Parallels
Sting - Dream of the Blue turtles
Slayer - Reign In Blood
Minor Threat - Out of Step
Queensryche - Rage For Order
Primus - Sailing the Seas of cheese
Dave Brubeck - Time Out
Spinal Tap - Smell The Glove
RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Styx - Crystal Ball
Barenaked Ladies - Gordon
The Police - Synchronicity
Bob and Doug McKenzie's Great White North
Yes - Fragile
Ozzy - Diary of a Madman
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
Dredg - Catch Without Arms

this could go on for days....

I am one of those people who listen to the whole album no matter what, so I feel like I could list a ton of stuff. I rarely will listen to partial albums, or one song at a time

I almost don't want to add anything because almost all of my favorite drummers are jazz drummers and to me whatever they touched is priceless to me.

I think for non-jazz albums the only ones I'll contribute are two Steve Smith played on... Escape and Frontiers

Big Wreck - In Loving Memory Of...

Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind

Guns & Roses - Appetite For Destruction

Faith No More - Angel Dust

Sevendust - Seasons

Alter Bridge - One Day Remains

Enuff Z' Nuff - Strength

Van Halen - Fair Warning

Just to name some of mine.

Yup. Wish I saw more votes for this. The perfect album.

And, if I may be so bold, it doesn't get nearly enough respect in rock history. Music Changed after this album.

This album taught me how to drum.
