Chad Smith
Chad Smith is the drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers whom he joined in 1988.

Chad Smith is also the drummer of the hard rock band Chickenfoot.

Whether it was his performance at Woodstock 99 wearing a giant light bulb on his head or in a witch doctor outfit on the cover of Modern Drummer's August 99 issue you remember first, it's hard to forget the infectious beats on such tunes as Give It Away, Higher Ground, Under The Bridge, and Lonely View. Highlighting their contribution to the music video genre, the band was presented The Video Vanguard Award at The 2000 MTV Music Awards and followed up with a blistering performance.

As one of the most highly sought after drummers, Smith has recorded with Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes' Jake Bugg, The Dixie Chicks, Jennifer Nettles, the great Johnny Cash, and The Avett Brothers.

In 2010 Smith released Rhythm Train a critically acclaimed children's album which he recorded with legend, Dick Van Dyke, and Leslie Bixler. In April 2010 MTV named Rhythm Train one of the best children's records of all time.

In August 2011, the Chili Peppers released I'm with You, their tenth studio album, seventh with Smith.

In April 2012, the band was inducted by Chris Rock into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Chad Smith joined Sammy Hagar in the studio to work on music for his twelfth studio album. They were joined by guitarist Neal Schon and bassist Michael Anthony,

In June 2013, the readers of UK based Rhythm magazine ranked Smith and Red Hot Chili Pepper bassist Flea the 4th greatest rhythm section of all time.
