Federico Paulovich...

Federico Paulovich, born in 1985, began his musical studies at the age of 9, taking lessons through the years from some of the greatest Italian drummers like Maxx Furian, Sergio Pescara, Stefano Bagnoli, Giorgio Di Tullio.

He attended several clinics, workshop and masterclasses of drumming greats as Gavin Harrison, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Johnny Rabb, Marco Minneman, Jojo Mayer and many more.

Drummer of numerous emergent bands in the Milan area, since he was 12 he played hundreds concerts all around Italy and several recordings. One of these is the EP released in 2004 by the band Amniotic Count (winner of the national contest organized by “True Metal” review-webzine) “Not Born Yet”, very well rewiewed by trade magazines.

In the jazz scene he had collaborations with artist like Arthur Miles, Larry Ray, Barbara Evans, Valentino Finoli, Raffaele Rinciari.

In 2005 he’s the drummer of the band that playback to the participants of the TV show “Sei un mito” broadcast for 7 appointment on national television channel “Canale5” (repeated in 2006 on national channel “Rete4”).

He works for 2 years with the Vasco Rossi (Italian rock legend) tribute band “Vascombriccola” in which also play Vasco’s musicians Claudio Golinelli, Maurizio Solieri and Mimmo Camporeale.

He did several works in studio in the last 2 years.

From January 2007 he’s the drummer for Destrage; the band has signed with Howling Bull (Anberlin, Sick Of It All, Hatesphere...) and the debut album “Urban Being” is in every Japanese stores since October/17/2007 selling about 4000 copies. Reprinting of Urban Being is in March 2009 while the band is working on the new record, waiting for touring Japan.

Since May 2007 Fede plays with Barbara, Italian pop-rock singer, produced by Luca Venturi; new album “Dai fuoco ai miei papaveri” is out since fall 2008 distributed by Universal, promo tour in 2009.

June 30th 2007: Fede wins international drums and percussion contest “Percfest-memorial Naco” (reviewed on drum magazines “Percussioni”, “Modern Drummer” and “Drum Club”) with the bass player Nic Angileri. “SuDuoKu”, the new duo formed by these two talented musicians, performed in November 2007 at the “Euro Bass Day” festival in Verona.

SuDuoKu also appeared on national television channel “Italia1” as special guest of TV show “Talent1” playing live some tunes.

Since 2008 Fede is the drummer from the band, directed by Carlo Gargioni (R.I.P.), on TV show “Saturday Night Live”.

On September/28/2008 Fede performed at the “Groove Day” festival, the most important drumming event in Italy, playing some tunes with sequences and presenting his new “DrumDuo” project with the great Riccardo Lombardo. The event and his performance have been very well rewiewed by “Modern Drummer” magazine and “Percussioni”.

In the beginning of 2009 joined the band “Grain”, side project with components from Destrage and Trough Your Silence, sponsored by Fallen skatewear. The band is going to release the first album, since several labels seems to be interested in the project.

Since December 2008, Fede works with the rock band “The Fire”, touring Italy and Europe, and performing in events like “T-Mobile Street Gigs” at the Olympic Stadium in Munich.

Since 2008 Fede endorses Mapex drums, Vic Firth sticks, UFIP cymbals and Shiner triggers and electronics.

After many years of teaching experience, since September 2007 Fede is drum teacher in the music academy “Skull Of Rock” (Modern.Music.Institute seat of Milan).

Moreover in September 2008 Fede attended the Private Drum Teacher Seminar held by Dom Famularo and powered by Vic Firth; at the end of which he received the Vic Firth teacher certificate.

In 2009 he joined the PDT program, thanks to Neil Larrivee (Education Director) and Olin Johannesen, appearing on the “Education” section of Vic’s website, and working to improve it with many other great musicians.
