Edith Habraken...

Edith Habraken, born 1965 in Holland, studied percussion at the Conservatorium Amsterdam and lives since 1988 with her family in Basel/Switzerland.

Her specialities and favourites are the Basler drum and the marimba.

She plays virtuous, surprising, refreshing, she plays both improvising & composed pieces, uses every object as a percussion instrument and what is very important for the audience who has never heard this women playing: whatever she does, it always goes together with a touch of humour.

She leads her foundation SMEH (Percussion- and marimbaschool Edith Habraken), and carries out her soloprogramm in the theatres.
