You should have posted this in the classified section.
That is a beautiful drum. Im not sure if I would want to part with it.
I think that the smooth BB's sound better than the hammered.
JMHO as a BB owner.

Have you tried a coated two ply batter on it yet? That will dry it out a bit. Have to agree with Bob here, that's a beautiful drum you have, I would think twice about replacing it.
If you really want it to be all it can be, take those &^$!! rubber gaskets off the lugs (the differencce is not suble) , put a set of puresounds on there and a thicker coated batter like an Emperor or a G2....or not... you really can't go wrong with that drum.

Easy to dry it out a bit - but impossible to add the tone that your snare has with a lesser drum.

Bob, probably should have put it in the classifieds......................

It is definitely the nicest snare I've ever had, but I love the look of the hammered BB's......I guess I assumed that they would both sound pretty similar...................is there a major sound difference between the smooth and hammered?

I have no gaskets under the lugs on my BB.
To me, the smooth shell has a lot more fullness and life to its sound.
I like to use a coated Ambassador on mine.
Have you tried a hammered BB yet?

Did you use the retroplate when you added the Trick throwoff?

It's not that I don't love the snare...........it's pure aesthetics, I just like the looks of the hammered much better............I never really thought of the hammered version as a lesser drum

No, haven't played one, played a hammered "world max" BB knockoff a few months back..............it sounded great and I loved the looks, that's what really got me thinking about a hammered BB

14" Zanki (Zanchi) rotocast hi hat cymbals.

I have a set of Zanki (Zanchi) hi hats cymbals that were made in Italy. These 14" hi hats appear to be Zanki Professional line, which are rotocast. Note the telltale sign of the thicker bell. The bell sounds awesome when struck.

There are no cracks or keyholes in either cymbal. There are some cosmetic blemishes to be expected, certainly in keeping with their age. There is a tiny chip in the top cymbal, as seen in the pictures. It is more noticeable from the bottom side that from the top. (It came to me this way and has not grown, nor is there cracking in any way.) This chip does not seem to affect the quality of sound at all. It even sounds great as a crash cymbal. The bottom has a small amount of scratching following along the total grooves approx. 1/2" or so in from the edge and continues for about 3 inches long. Perhaps from another cymbal being set on top? Since it is on the bottom, no one sees it. These are otherwise solid hats.

It's rare to find these in the States and even rarer to get a set that is not on the heavier side. The top weighs in at 860g and the bottom at 1271g.

Asking $200 USD. $20 shipped CONUS

Default Premier Signia For Sale!

Hi all!

I have a friend who is interested in selling their Premier Signia Kit.

It does have some minor issues:
-Snare is missing throw off and butt plate
-Snare needs a tension screw
-One bass drum is missing the telescoping legs of the spurs
-I believe both spurs missing the legs are missing the locking nuts as well

peter@dancincrowdrums.com has most of these parts in stock (both new and used)

Website (contact info is at the top): http://snapzig.com/drumsale/index.php

I have a 2012 Ludwig Black Beauty 6.5 x 14 with Imperial Lugs I'm thinking about selling.

Would much rather deal with someone in this awesome community than ebay/craigslist, and as of now it is not listed anywhere else.

It is in perfect condition. 99% of the time it sits in a private rehearsal studio or my apartment in a SKB hard case. I've gigged with it 5 times. Not a single scratch. Factory Ludwig resonant head, currently remo ambassador X on top (can replace with a slightly used ambassador or emperor for free).

Reason for selling is that I just played a super old slingerland that really has the sound im after. I love the black beauty...it is truly a magical drum and lives up to every bit of hype. i wish i could keep both.

On musicians friend/GC they retail for $699. I'm not really sure what to ask for since I'm not a good judge of that, but again, the drum is a 10/10. Entertaining all serious offers. Please PM me and I'll get back to you quickly.

I am located in NY, but will ship at buyer's expense. I have shipped snare drums before with 100% success.

Thanks!
Craig

Here are the items for sale this week:

  • DRUMS:

    • VINTAGE LUDWIG:

      • LATE 1960S/EARLY 1970S 16X18” BLUE OYSTER 3 PLY FLOOR TOM: – A Maple/Poplar/Maple 3 ply shell with reinforcing rings, this drum needs some TLC! The heads fit a little snug but nothing to terrible. The lap joints on the oyster finish are obviously pulling up but are in a good position to be fixed by a competent repair shop. No reserve!

      • VINTAGE 1964 CHAMPAGNE SPARKLE 8X12” TOM: – A Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany 3 ply shell with reinforcing rings and white painted interior, this is one of the drums in which the sparkle finish is in the lap joint of the plies. Nickel plated hardware, KEYSTONE badge and a rare mount indicate that this may be a drum form earlier than 1964 but who really knows! No reserve!

      • VINTAGE 1982 LUDWIG 10X14” SILVER SPARKLE TOM TOM: – . 6 ply maple shell and Silver Sparkle finish with the rivets at the lap joint indicate that this drum is from 1982. This drum has 6 lugs per side and there is some bar fading on this drum. No reserve!

      • VINTAGE 1982 LUDWIG 12X15” SILVER SPARKLE TOM TOM: – . 6 ply maple shell and Silver Sparkle finish with the rivets at the lap joint indicate that this drum is from 1982. This drum has 6 lugs per side and there is some bar fading on this drum. No reserve!

    • PORK PIE:

      • 1998 5X13” SNARE DRUM IN TRANSPARENT RED LACQUER FINISH: – This snare drum is a hidden gem, a real prize. I used recently on a gig and it sounds incredible from the stage and thru the PA. 5x13” snare drums are really unsung No reserve!

Hey guys, I may be selling my Pearl Vision VBX drums soon. *They are ruby fade and have been taken care of as much as possible. *Only thing wrong may be a scratch or 2 on the toms/bass drum. *Hardly noticeable. *They have been upgraded with Pearl 2.3mm SuperHoops on top and bottom (minus the 8" tom, original hoops), and Pearl Optimounts on all the toms minus the floor tom of course. *Included also are Pearl 1000 Series Arms for each of the toms and 1 2000 series for the 14x11. *They sound and look beautiful! *Here's what I have:
*
20x18 Bass Drum - $315.00
8x7 - $145.00
10x8 - $155.00
12x9 - $165.00
13x10 - $175.00
14x11 - $190.00
14x14 Floor Tom - $180.00
16x13 - $205.00
*
Price includes shipping. *Please let me know if there is any interest in these!

Wow. And I see they're in a church. I would definitely like to see how you use all that stuff in a church gig!
