Default My digital drum kit

Hi there,

I've constructed this kit around a Roland TD-6 drumset. I'm like the mad scientist of digital drummers!

At the left, under the mixer, you can see an old SIMMONS SDE expander, and also an E-MU procussion (wich I got from the Giorgio Moroder's studio), and at the right a couple of old simmons pads.

Note that the drum is resting on a special drum riser wich should be of some interest to electronic drum owners.

You can take a closer look by visiting my web site where you'll find more pictures, and a complete description.

On my right ... on my left you mean ?

On my left from the top:

LCD Monitor
Keyboard and trackball (instead of a mouse)
Behringer eurorack mixer
E-Mu procussion (2 mb of sampled percussion sound)
Simmons SDE expander (wich is an analog synth, FM)

On my right you can see 4 Simmons SDS9 pads wich i call my "Simmons Wall". The pads are mounted vertically and they are connected to the MIDI KITI Pro wich is the black box under the last Roland pad at the right.

The black box you see on the right behind the kit is the Yamaha MS50DR subwoofer/amp.

I've attached an image of the MIDI, Trigger & Audio Setup so you can see whats in there.

Sorry about that buddy !

So I guess I shouldnt say anyhthing about the 400 feet of cables, including midi, audio, pads, speakers & psu, connecting everything together.

I had to move it once, thats why I made the drawing btw.

Just under $8000 (canadian dollars)

Best deal I got was the Simmons SDE Expander at 49$

A not so good deal was the gooseneck lamp over the mixer .. I still cant beleive I spent 52$ on that thing!

I know absolutely nothing about electronic drums. Your set inspires me to want to venture beyond the world of acoustic drums.

In order to post a video I'll have to borrow my brother's cam and then go back to his place to use his computer to transfer the video because I dont have a FireWire card on my PC... I should be able to do that by the next weekend.

Well, dont venture too far my friend (read keep your acoustic kit). I've played all kinds of e-kits for the last 15 ,, 20 years, and I really missed the control and overtones of a real acoustic kit.

In fact my opinion now is that they are completely different musical instrunments.

I missed an acoustic kit soooo much after all those years that I bought this little baby a couple of months ago.. and its really itching me.. I played like 2 minutes until my neighbour complained. Its a Yamaha Rydeen, RD8F4, Garnet Red .. its my micro-drum-kit!

18x15 BD, 10x8 Tom, 13x12 Floor, 13x5 Snare, 12" AAX stage hats, K Custom Dark Crash 14", Zildjian Remix Breakbeat Ride 18", AAX Stage Crash 16", HHX Evolution Splash 12", I also have a Wuhan 16" china.

Its brand new, not even a stick mark on the heads .. I absolutly LOVE it!!!
(I took the picture with my cell phone, sorry about the poor quality)
