I'll be attending a HBC (Henderson, Berlin, Chambers) concert next week, with Gary Novak subbing for Dennis Chambers.

Hey me too! A bit miffed that Dennis didn't make it, but I'm perhaps one of the worlds biggest Novak fans so I'll have to make due.
Not ironic at all.He always played for the music....not his ego.Well stated and coming from a guy who's usually known for "chops",very insightful.Dennis didn't always play "chops full",and no matter who he played for....always made the music better than he found it.

Actually, just go to youtube and search for Dennis Chambers, you will see 20 videos on his solos and chops. Again, nothing wrong with that, but Chambers is and always will be a chops player whereas others like Garibaldi for example is a Groove player
