My 1992 Pearl Export "Restoration" Project

Did I miss it or can you tell us what you used to polish the shells. That kit looks fantastic and until you have stripped one down fully you have no idea of the amount of time and energy.

Thanks a lot, man, I appreciate it.
It really takes a lot of time and effort.

To polish the wrap I used:

1) Windex (to take off all the goo easily). I read it isn't recommended 'cause ammonia can dull the finish.. but I tried on a little bit first and it didn't do anything wrong so I did the whole kit).

2) A little bit of furniture polish (I think you call it "Pledge")

3) Then Silicone spray (the one you use for black plastic parts on cars).

And a lot of elbow grease. :)

Cheers!

PS: On the inside of the shells I used wood wax, natural finish. Liquid, not cream.

It really brought the wood back to life and gave a nice, smooth, kinda "sealed" feel to the shells.
