Hey everyone. Been lurking for a while and finally decided to become legit.
Been playing drums for about 15 years (metal), but I've also been playing guitar for close to 25 years (also metal). I've only had 1 kit so far, a Tama Rockstar DX (10, 12, 13, 16, 22, 22)...but I'm hoping to finally upgrade (to a Silverstar) by this spring. I also use a Gretsch 6.5x14 hand hammered brass snare, and I'm an absolute Paiste fanatic.
Here's a couple pics from this past July, which were taken during a studio session for our latest album:
My set up here was the Rockstar toms, Gretsch snare, and a buddy's PDP kicks (which ended up being sound-replaced anyways).
Paiste cymbals were:
14" Alpha Metal Edge hats
15" 2002 sound edge hats
22" Dimensions Power china
19" Dimensions Power crash
14" Alpha china
20" Sound Formula Power crash
20" RUDE china (my god that thing sounds amazing)
22" Dimensions Power Bell ride
19" RUDE Wild crash
...plus a 22" Sabian AAX Metal ride and 15" AAX X-treme china, which aren't usually on the kit but I decided to experiment with to change things up.
