Show Off Your DW Kit

oddtime74 - Yes, i was really lucky to get it. It's a great Rock set with a loud and bassy sound. I use clear Evans dampening rings on all my drums except the 8''. I'm hoping to get good enough at tuning to leave the dampeners and keep more of the sound of the set. If you haven't heard any of my music yet i play a Rock style, but in most of our recent unrecorded songs we have calmed and found happy mediums in several sub genres. And the set pulls its weight finely. My band and I enjoy the sound of this set more than my 2 previous drum sets.

I've actually since sold this kit to a really nice guy in the UK. I had ordered it from dw in birdseye maple because I had missed out on the quilted maple run they did. I thought I would never sell this kit until Premier made my dream kit. I'll never say never again with drum sets. There are just way to many nice kits out there to say this is the one and only although I think the one I have now is the one and only..........stay tuned :) Any how here are the sizes.
7x8
8x10
9x12
10x13
12x15
14x18
5.5x14 snare
18x22 bass drum

Nice kit! I believe you and I chatted on the OGR forum some time ago! (I have the same name over there, too)

EDIT: Yep we did! I remember you putting that room together and showing pics of your progress.

Very interesting. I couldn't find anything about them being in oak on the internet so maybe I'll send an e-mail to PDP/DW and ask about it. That's cool if they really are oak. I'm not not sure how thick those X7 oak shells are but I agree in general. This X7 maple set that I have just blows me away every time I sit behind it. They made the right choice to not follow suit with the rest of the companies and make the "normal" 7.2mm thick shells or greater for the bass drum. I believe the numbers I got in an e-mail from them was 4.3 or 4.6mm shells. Just an awesome sound from them all around! Just an incredible deal for what you get and I'm sure the Concepts are no different! And yes I'll have to give your band a listen.

Salute.

Hey Ed
Great to see you here! I suppose it's more drum season now than train season. Haven't seen you on OGR for a while, but I've slacked off a bit myself, I guess it's more of a winter time sport.

Partially completed my rack setup. I'm currently working with DW on getting two customized rack mountable snare baskets for my main and side snares. I'm waiting on delivery of my clamp that will also allow me to mount my hi hat stand to the rack as well. Here is what I have so far. More changes still to come, stay tuned... :D

Wow! What a beaut. I see you've got a Sabian "Cymbal Vote" cymbal too!

Thanks! It is the Artisan 3-Point crash. I scored it during the CymbalVote contest. Still can't believe it didn't make it through the voting. Guess everybody likes brighter sounding cymbals.

On another note, I took my kit outside for a photo-shoot yesterday. Here are the results!

Very cool and creative set up. The kits look way hipper without the bar going across the front.

Thanks Jeff! I'm hoping to receive the final pieces of hardware by the end of the week so I can mount my main snare to the rack. I'm also going to redo the side snare mount as well.

Those snare rack mounts are awesome. I need a second on for my utility snare too!

Looks great man! Mine is going to be a bit different. Due to the weight of my edge snare, I have to customize it a bit to support the weight. I'll post pics once everything comes in and I have it completed.

drumminjc,
that's a super nice blue kit you have! Looks really sexy.

Thanks Arky! :)

+1.........I think I'm in love

Thanks bro! Really appreciate it!
