I thought I would start a thread listing the biggest bass drums that are known to fit in various Car models

BMW 3-Series - 20"x16" in soft bag fits in backseat 20" in H&B hardcase doesn't fit

Has anyone fit a 22" into a 3-series?

Please list your car and the biggest bass drum that you can fit.

Mercury Sable....22 inch on the back seat with the seat belt on.

I can just barely fit my 20x24 in the passenger seat of my '99 Buick Century, but I have to take the front hoop off to get it through the door. No chance of it getting in with it's road case.

For the record, I also fit it into the backseat of an '03 Ford Focus 4-door once (hoops and all!). However, I nearly had to remove the door to get it back out again, and I never managed to figure out how in God's name I ever got it in there in the first place.

Fits really nice in a 6x8 trailer though. : )

Honda Element fits both my Mapex kit 10,12,14,16,22x18 hardware case, cymbal bag, snare and my Gretsch kit 13,16,18,26x16, and all the accessories. Plenty of room here for about anything

This thread reminds of when I was in college playing in a band. I drove a 1980 Honda Civic Hatchback at the time, and I would fit a full 5-piece Tama kit in the back with the seats folded down (we all used "power toms" back then - they were huge!), plus all of the hardware, cymbals, drum rug, one of the band's PA speakers, miscellaneous cables, bags of gear, etc. I would be cruising up the Jersey Turnpike, fully loaded down, and I could never see out any of the windows except the front - LOL! Good memories.

96' Accord can fit my 24x19" in the backseat in a gig bag. Same with a 91' Lincoln Townecar.

I drive a 2000 model Renault Megane Station Wagon, and I can fit my 22x17.5, no problem. I could probably fit a 24" in there, possibly also a 26".

Ford Expedition: I can fit you Kit and mine.

Lets see.....

2008 Hummer H3

and I cant fit squat!!!! I could barely fit my 14X22 in the trunk, definitely no room for shotgun or back seat, and i just barely fit my 4 piece (bass, snare, 2 toms) with 3 cymbals in there.

Despite its size, H3's really dont got too much space.

I almost bought a mini van. The cargo space is like a cave when the seats are folded down flat. I went with the Honda Pilot but the seats still fold flat and it can still hold all my stuff. Bring your biggest drum when you go car shopping !

I drive a 2000 Toyota Sienna van, and I can vouch for that statement! Only the top halves of the seats fold down, but there's still plenty of room for my 5-piece kit
(10 12 14 20 + 14x5 snare), plus cymbals, hardware, and a passenger. . . I used to be able to fit a 22x18 in my '91 Ford Escort 4 door hatchback.
