What is your cymbal Setup?

on the left a paiste 2002 18" crach
the right a paiste 2002 20" power crash
middle a 20" paiste 2002 heavy ride
(got a combell and a tamborine in there somewhere :p)

and for now paiste pst3 14" hats, will upgrade to 2002's SE or medium 14" or 15", still have not descided.

All Sabian and purchased second hand. Love them all!

20" Sabian HHX China
19" ZIldjian K Custom Trash Smash

I don't play all of these at once; that would be absurd. I typically play hats, ride, 2 crashes, and a stack. A quiet setup would look like

Hybrid Hats and Ride
17 Hybrid Crash
Mini China on top of the New Beat top hi hat

Medium Volume would look like

New Beat Hats
Paragon Ride
19 Hybrid Crash
18 Sabian Dark Crash
20 HHX China on top of the 17 Hybrid Crash

Loud would be

New Beat Hats
Z Custom Ride
Zildjian Rock Crash
Meinl Mb20 Heavy Crash
Trash Smash

The only items that don't really fit anywhere are the 2002s. Most likely going to sell those.

They sit over a Gretsch Renown jazz kit.

The HHX has a nice dark crash sound and sits left under the 18 fast crash with the K crash right side.

There's a 20" med thin Zildjian A crash locally I really like as well.

Just received a new crash yesterday :D !

So here is how it looks now :

I really have to replace my old hi hat ! :D
I saw the 15" K Light hi-hat and the K 14" K Custom Dark. What do you think about those ? Feel free to propose other hats you think it could go with my actual K Setup :)

Well, I'm pretty sure that regular K hats would great with that setup. The light hats and K customs would go great also. Just depends on the sound you're looking for.

I'm actually going to be pairing a K 14" Light hi-hat top with a regular 14" K bottom. So I'm kind of hoping the results will be like Sabian Legacy Hi hats.

Currently I use the following for my gigging set:

14" Zildjian A Custom Hi Hats
16" Zildjian A Custom Crash
16" Zildjian K Dark Medium Thin Crash
18" Zildjian A Custom Crash
21" Zildjian A Sweet Ride

I have a 20" Zildjian K Custom Ride I sometimes swap out with the Sweet Ride depending on the venue. I like the ability to crash my Sweet Ride though so I have been sticking with that mostly.

My at home kit:
8" Sabian B8 Pro splash
12" Sabian B8 Pro splash
13" Sabian AAX fast hats
16" Sabian AAX dark crash
16" Sabian AAX bright crash
14" Sabian AA thin crash
18" Sabian AAX XXtreme chinese
20" Zildjian K Custom Ride

My setup is simple.. pst8's (which i can't wait to replace.. someone beat on me a pair of newbeat hats today on ebay.. so sad..)
And my tom angles look horrible in that pic.. doesn't seem so bad playing:)

For most in town gigs I typically use just the AAX and 18" K crash and a set of hats. On The road it varies more depending on the playing situation. The only thing I'd really love to have that I don't is a cool sounding 16" crash with a really short decay and an extremely heavy ride like an Earth or Leopard ride Its fun to see what other folks have in their arsenal

Cheers,
Clive.

Mine is definitely not static. I will set things up and 6 months later change an angle, or shift positions. I have 2 rides, 1 in the hole and the other over the hi hat (with rivets). But that too is subject to change.

I have a pop punk setup, and play with bigger cymbals than normal, yet i still find them small.

I use all Zildjian because in my opinion, they are the best.

The cymbals i own are:

16" A Medium Thin Crash
18" A Medium Thin Crash
20" A Medium Thin Crash
14" A New Beat Hi-hats
21" A Sweet Ride
18" FX Oriental China
10" A Custom Splash

I am currently looking for a 16" Hi-Hat Bottom or Crash so i can use my 16" Crash on the top. Whenever my band has gigs, I use the 18" Crash on my left and the 20" on the right. I want to try 16" Hi-Hats, because my 14"s feel small. I also am looking for a A 24" Medium Ride, and yeah.

Forget all those marketing terms like "brilliant", "washy", "complex" and "melodious".

It sounds like an angel getting smashed in the face with a pane of glass.

The stick definition is just incredible, and that bell. Oh god, that bell.
that is good
