Hey man I understand you gotta do what you got to do.

Here are some tips it you want...

On the stock batter bass head there should be a internal ring kinda thing, fold up some paper towels put them in between the head and internal ring you might have to tape a bit, but it will give you a great sound. Kinda like a SK I or power stroke.

That will allow you to get the bass cleaned out.

You might look into attack heads I just got some for my gretsch and they are pretty sweet. They tuned up really easy, have a just enough resonance, and no annoying overtones. The best part is they are relatively cheap.

Your G1s should be good (I had clear G1s on my set before now and they were great just got old after a year), once you get a good reso head on, because the reso side is where all of your annoying overtones are most likely coming from. Best of luck to ya
