not a kit to drool over... - my nighthawk

Good story. Theres nothing wrong with dreaming, until you are only happy when you dream. I love my kit, but i confess, almost every time i sit down i imagine how great new heads, new cymbals, new shells would be, but then crank the music and have fun. Sadly though, our skill is mostly judged by what we have, not what we can do with it. You can sit down at a custom set of DW's surrounded by everything top-of-the-line, play a simple little beat and people think the world of you. Then you can walk over to a set thats practically falling apart, preform as one of the world's most amazing drummers, and people move on. Our world is all about what we own, as if what we have can make us better than others. And I guess the sad ending to that story is that nowadays it can...

I think that a good number of drummers here on the forum satrted out with a kit like that so hold your head up high. Definitely go over that kit with some Pledge or furniture polish and get 'em nice and shiny!
