My drum kits and cymbals...

This is definitely a "hey, look at me" thread. I work hard for a living and have no shame in owning nice things. :)

Anyway, here's a shot of my two drum sets - Yamaha Club Custom and Live Custom. I have 22/10/12/14/16 drums for both, but use them setup the way they are in the pics. Snares are Ludwig 6.5x14 Acrolite Reissue and a 5.5x14 Yamaha Copper with Nouveau lugs. I just posted about having a matching 5.5x14 Club Custom snare on the way.

I thought you guys may enjoy some decent drum porn, so here it goes!

Very nice, super clean and neat. So...if you HAD to choose only one of those kits (CLub vs. Live) which set would you keep, and why?

Woa Momma... That is one sexy drum room. All you need is a beer fridge and you could spend all your time in there.

For a moment I thought you had 2 driver's pics of the same kit. Then I realized that they're just both black. Did this happen by accident or do you just like black kits?

That one does look classy as hell with those coated heads. You could play that at the Queen's wedding.

Wow! Those are some nice looking setups. Those Club Customs especially are beautiful! Which kit do you prefer more?

I hope to have the privilege of owning nice drums and cymbals one day. I'm currently working on the cymbals part right now, but nice drums probably won't come for probably more than 5 years.

No one should ever have to apologize for enjoying the rewards of hard work!

Very nice looking kits. Really nice looking rehearsal room to boot.

Thanks guys! To be honest, the room was a mess and I just cleaned it up today before taking pics. :)

If I had to pick one I d these kits to keep forever, it would be the club custom without a doubt. It's warm and resonant. Very pleasing sounding and musical to my ears.

The live custom rocks too and that's the only kit I've used with my band, but I LOVE the club customs more.

Nice looking gear and an inspiring room set up.

Congrats

Are the ones on the right side the Club Customs? Those are the ones I like better between the two. They both look awesome though.

I purposely got the black wood live custom kit first. Then a year or more later, found a killer local deal on a new set of club customs and they also happened to be black wood.

I'm glad though. Can't lose with black!

I thought you said "decent drum porn"? Well? I'm waiting.

;)

All jokes aside, gorgeous and clean setups that I'd be proud to own.

I'm diggin' both sets. They look super. You worked for them, you earned them. Too many freeloading, dead beats are getting handouts for doing absolutely nothing in our country. We all love to see pics of kits on here, so no, don't even think twice about a "look at me" feeling. I don't see it that way at all.

What happened to your Reference kit?

I ended up selling it for what I paid new, since I got an incredible deal on it. They are incredibly built sets and the 20" bass drum was incredibly powerful. But yeah, I moved on to Yamaha and have been really happy for the past year or two.

Doesn't mean I'm a Yamaha for life guy or anything, though. ha ha

Weren't you also rocking a Memphis Ride at a certain point too? Has that similarly been kicked to the curb?

Huge fan of the Memphis Ride. It's my workhorse and does pretty much anything I ask of it.

Really funny you ask this today... I'm currently in the process of figuring out which Sabians I want to keep and which I'm selling to help pay for everything else I've been buying lately.

So far listed for sale are a 21" AAX Raw Bell Dry Ride and 16" and 18" AAX Dark Crashes.

I have the Memphis ride, an Artisan ride, Freq hats, and a smaller HHX xtreme crash sitting in the corner. Those cymbals make a nice non-traditional "funk" sounding setup to me, so as of now, those are staying!

The Memphis ride does indeed sound great.

Beautiful kits Sarge.
Those pic's say, "Play Me"
That is what drums should say.
