Hey dxtr,

That is one sexy looking kit, would love to see it with the other drums mentioned, but all in all I like the wrap, and that snare is a beauty. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks,

JIM

Like the bass drum

Are they evans hydrailc heads; Whats there sound like?

wow! what an incredible looking kit! that snare drum is gorgeous, just gorgeous...

Very nice. Can you tell me how well you like the SR renewed cymbal?

Your picture quality is of great thought. Nice pictures and a great looking snare!

Very nice kit and pics,...I noticed the seam on the rack tom is not split in the center of the top and bottom lugs. That is always a smart thing to do, added strength to hold the wrap down and tight. Since I restore drums I notice these things. Sweet looking kit!!

Hey Guys

Thanks for all the kind words. The new pics will be coming up in a while i hope. I'm also waiting on my remaining cymbals for the kit. Its gonna be a decent size by the time I'm done.

The heads on the kit for these pics are

EC2 Clear SST's on tops of toms
EC Reso's on Bottoms
Reverse Dot on top of snare
Hazy 300 bottom
EMAD Clear and EQ3 on kik

I used the clear heads just to show the deep blue finish on the inside of the shell. My tip of the hat to Sonor. I could've had a crazy veneer but i decided against it.

I've changed to EC2 Coated SST's on toms and EMAD reso for kik. I use the Kickport (amazing) and i recently started using gplus coated on all my snares (its a different sound and ive fallen in love, but be warned i've found they have to be perfectly tuned!).

As for the sound. I've not used hydraulics on this kit and i don't think i would. The toms are far to short for them. The hydra's would be really really dead sounding but they have a nice controlled sound on deep toms.

Man it sounds great! Its a very very standard cymbal sound. Think this used to be a aax or aa thin crash. Thats the tone it has anyways. I thought i would buy it as a kicker for the kit when i play crappy bars and stuff but its become one of my favorite cymbals!

Thanks again guys!

PS: im also dying to know what chazz said! lol

Hey mattwalker_21

The owner of TRS prefers the looks of it and its easier to mount properly. I'm indifferent to it but i changed it back to the top when i was changing the heads out of habit lol

And thanks i love it!
