Moeller technique for 2&4 rock/funk grooves

Good stuff Bill - thank you. As a rookie I have found myself pounding the back beat with a less than relaxed grip. I also found your setup intriguing and am looking into it.... Thanks again -

Is Bill showing and applying Moeller to accents on snare AND for Rim Shots?

I much prefer the "mash" for most simple backbeats with rimshots on snare, rather than moeller whip. Very different sound and feel. It takes very little effort and energy, but requires some technique. At higher volumes, moeller is the way to go though.

In the end, it's all about the sound you're trying to pull out of the drum. Each technique brings different results.
