have been given a td3 for shits and giggles until July so set it up in my front room and used my old throne and my spare iron cobra. Cos the studio with my full kit is in the rehearsal where there is no heating, I have been doing all my work for the past 3 months in the comfort of my front room.

After xmas i went back to full rehearsals and have found that my foot technique on my main kit with a DW9000 is dreadful, so Iv got the DW 9000 back on the kit at home, it turns out its not the pedal (thank god) but the fact that my new stool is too high. a Gibraltar round seat with backrest on this base http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa=hires&mid=1170

Now i'm a short bloke, and this stool is at its lowest, but i obviously need to cut this down and subsequently my snare stand (if you've seen me monster 9 inch deep snare, you'll understand why) But i also dont want to stop the stands packing flat....

Any ideas, anyone? Anyone else had to do this?
Im not an engineer so im well stumped......

Um... buy a new snare? (kidding)
Perhaps a shorter snare stand? I had a mapex snare stand that could go really low - you could possibly get that 9" beast lower.
Or maby a DW snare stand that sort of juts out? like this (hard to explain) http://www.dwdrums.com/hardware/9300.htm

It depends if you tilt your snare...
It just sucks that you have to spend money eh...
Hope that helped (probarbly didn't)

Ha! nah, aint gonna buy a new snare!!!! ;-)

I started to play with a tilted snare when I started using the 9" one, which ended up a bonus for my playing anyway, and wouldn't need to lower if it was n't for this bloody stool!!!!

guess I am gonna have to start spending some cash, just that I have four really good snare stands and was hoping to play it cheap, don't know what to do bout the stool tho. are there any stools marketted for short arses like me?
