Tom angles!!!!

Oh, and lose the roto's too.

Actually, a guy brought a set with roto's positioned like that to a blues jam in my town one time. Turned out a guitarist on my set wanted to play "867-5309 (Jenny)" and they worked great for that song... ya never know. Kinda wish I still had a set sometimes...

Also good for percussion solos.

I would love to buy this drumset but there is not enough duct tape on the snare drum. Once I buy the kit, I will not have any money left over for 3 rolls of tape. What to do?

These duct kits never seem to come out of the factory satisfactory enough.

Ebay Germany... again ;-)
This time it's a Pearl double bass kit. And as we all know, ergonomics are paramount especially if you're into double bass playing.

You know after almost five years, this is the best thread ever on DW.

I have been here for almost 8 years and no matter what bullshit happens here. I can always come to this thread and make myself laugh for about 10-15 minutes and feel right with the world.

Thanks bojangleman

Ebay... the root of all pic evil.

Looks like Mapex are really the best drums ever, played by the very best drummers.
2 sets set up ready to play, looks really comfy!

Plus a cheapo drumkit obviously set up by a Nicko McBrain fanboy, haha.

Look at that gap.

The guy must need the top of the bass drum to rest his massive wang when he plays. No other reason why.

Thats the Michael Strahan of drumsets....

A few more gems on Chicago CL...

Fasten your seat belts, kids!

(1) "I bought this drum set for my husband and he just doesn't have the time to play it." Or, apparently, the brain cells?
(2) I find that a good 90-degree angle between pedals helps me to play better too.
(3) "I know nothing about drums." No $#!t, Sherlock...
(4) Your poor, poor kids.
(5) Even the ladder's at a crazy angle!
(6) Great googly moogly! What size are those concert toms, 8-10-20-22?!
(7) What the actual poo.
(8) You know, they have medicine that can help you with that sort of thing now.
(9) Hmmm, where does the hi-hat go? Oh, I know! Right here!
(10) "gorgeous red rydeen yamaha drum set." Ought to have also said, "which I have no idea how to play or set up."
(11) "Enforcer" is clearly Taiwanese for "matchless quality".
(12) ...just stop. Please. Think of the kittens.

Thia thread is hilarious! Actually one of the teachers here in London has his snare so tilted like in some of the examples. It's amazing!

Actually, wang resting position aside, I don't mind the gap too much. I've never subscribed to the obsession with saving every millimetre between toms, otherwise you're just building issues travelling from snare to toms, or mounted tom to floor tom.

I used to tilt my snare away from me by quite a bit, but these days it's near flat, although still slightly tilted away. I can't stand snares tilted towards me - absolutely does my head in, & is mostly useless for rimshots with matched grip.

Great thread eh Rafael :)

gary chester sort of had that "territorial " thing going on with his setup, and his toms were also pretty far from each other. iirc ;)

So why can't we stand up when we play drums ????

Who says we can't?

Oh, Craigslist.

dude wants $1400 for a drumset and doesn't even understand what toms to put where.

That could be a decent set though. The cymbals are nice.It would help if they were not playing on the resonant head of the bass drum.
