G'day, my name is Justin from the Far North of Australia.
Been playing drums since 1980, after school played in bands as my main "job" till the mid nineties, when I had to join the real world......
Probably went about 5-6 years where I didn't pick up a stick by the early 2000's and now I'm a grumpy old man I have time to play again, playing in an originals rock band, just laid a few tracks down in the studio and spend a lot of time collecting/restoring/buying selling vintage and unusual drums.
Have a 70's Ludwig Vistalite in Blue, an 80's Pearl Export, a 90's Gretsch Catalina Birch, a double kick Ludwig Epic, Pearl Vision Birch, an Old HRK Drum Institute kit, and god knows what else is in the drum shed.
Also like to collect 80's drum synths - Have two original Simmons kits and a couple of awesome Synare S3 drum synth units.
My favourite drum from my collection is an Italian Meazzi Hollywood "Multisound" pedal tuned Floor Tom from the 60's, I have a kangaroo skin head on it which really suits the changing tensions of the pedal mechanism. My favourite snare out of my collection is my Premier Heavy Rock Nine with the birch inner lining and brass outer shell, parallel snare mech and red felt linings on the internal parts.
Glad to be here
Cheers
