A kit to call my own, without starting a drum company

Great job making your old kit new again. I re-sprayed the clear on my Signia's not long ago, but have not done any photo's. While building a kit from scratch is a huge time consuming ordeal, I still find the finish the most painful part of the process, I hate sanding, especially wet sanding by hand more than anything. To me it dwarf's all the wood woodworking. So you you skipped all the woodworking, but you did ace the hard part.

I didn't think about a year after, extremely good advice. Thank you. I am at the mist coat stage right now. I am just waiting on it to get here. I noticed "Dan Young" on the black you got. If you live in the same town as Dan Young, county plate code 80 (don't want to come out and say it) you are about 20 minutes away from me.... Small world.

LOL Where you at? Indiana? Kokomo? Alexandria? Elwood? Cicero?
PM me if ya want.

Kokomo. I did my clear coat today. I will be sanding it in a few days, maybe even tomorrow. I ended up going with this clear.

I also got the 65-85 degree activator. Having never sprayed clear before, I am happy with the results, to this point. I will know more once I start to sand. This picture is with an iPhone, that is why the quality is low.

Here is a finished one!!!! One week. 1 pint of black. 1 gallon of clear coat. A lot of sanding. Pleased with it for the most part. I didn't build the clear up enough so my grain comes through the clear coat, but I ran out of clear :(
