When I woke up this morning, my garage door was open and my 1973 Zickos drums and my cymbals were GONE! Please be on the look out. I have filed a police report with the Norman PD, Norman, OK. If you see anything, please call 405/640-9945. Thanks.

Oh man.

I know how you feel. I had my cymbals stolen a couple of years ago. It's a terrible thing.

You probably already thought of it, but put the word out to all local music stores, in case someone tries to bring them in to sell. Same thing with pawn shops, etc.

Watch Craigslist like a hawk. Also, I know your drums will never be "replaceable", but maybe your home/renters insurance would be able to help in some way.

Good luck, and take a deep breath. The good side of it is that you or your family weren't harmed in the process.

Sorry to hear it.

contact pawn shops within 100 mile radius every other week or so.... sorry for your loss..hope you get them back

If you do happen to spot them in a pawn shop, don't approach the owner right away until you have a police officer with you.

I've heard stories where the victim spotted their guitar, etc in a pawn shop, told the owner, who then denied any responsibility and when the person came back with a police officer, the guitar had vanished.

Sorry for your loss.

Really hope you get them back and the Rat Bastard is caught!!!!! I hate thieves!!!!

Hey Zicko, sorry fella that sucks..

I'm no where near you geographically but I'm always on ebay etc- do you have any good close up pics of them so that others here (including myself) can keep a look out on sites like that?

Definitely keep us posted on this. Good luck. Do you belong to any other drum forums? Might be worth throwing a note up on the ghostnote forum as well. Let me know if you aren't on there, and I'll post something on your behalf.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with finding them. Keep us posted.

My heart's out to you man. I'm sure those are worth more than the dollar amount to you. Hope you get them back really soon.

Maybe someone delivering pizza, or doing some work at your house recently that may have saw them?

The thing about drums is, everyone knows you have them! Anybody walking by, driving by with windows down, etc, while you're playing has you pegged. Especially in a garage.

Hope you are able to get them back!

I'm very sorry they were stolen. I wish I could help - good luck getting them back!

Post some pics mate....I'm no help to you as I doubt they'll show up in Oz, but there's a hell of a lot of ebayers here on DW. If they know what to look for, I'm sure they wouldn't mind flagging them if they ever show up online.

Sorry for your loss!!

Post some pictures and also, I am naive when it come to Zickos drums. Will they have "Zickos" on badges on the drums. Did yours have a "Zickos" logo on the front head.

Look at this link and tell us how closely the resemble these drums:

I would also say keep an eye out on Craigslist in areas like Dallas, Houston, Austin, Memphis since you are in Norman. OK. Those would be the biggest metropolitan areas to front something. You might also call Scott at the Horn Trader in Oklahoma City and have him keep an eye out because they might just come walking into his store since he deals in vintage drum gear.

To all of you who are trying to help:

I am on three drum web sites now (this one, Drum Forum and Drumsmith) and have pics posted on each. Everyone has been very sympathetic and I appreciate it. You could help me by posting on every other web site you are on and tell all your friends.

Here are pics. Feel free to repost them, or I'll be glad to e-mail them to you..

Skitch, I've seen those drums and they are not mine.

Skulmoski, I am not very computer literate. Can you set up a google alert for me or tell me how to do it?

Tommyland, good advice. I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks everyone for all youkr help. Fingers crossed.
