THE greatest recording ever made is the Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter"......couldn't find a more PERFECT recording no matter how hard you try.

Yeah..i would have to agree also.First time I heard the "Let it Bleed" album, I was just gobspacked.I think I played "Gimme Shelter",and "Love in Vain" over and over.Not that the rest of the album isn't great but,Mary Claytons vocal was just way over the top..:)

perfect fade-in intro...and then the REST of the song takes over. simplistic perfection.

All the Rolling Stones tunes are tied. But I'm really fond of "Some Girls." The song, not just the album.

Beds Are Burning by Midnight Oil is also an incredible tune, but I think it's from the 80s.
