Hey guys, I just got my new drum kit, a little while ago, and I first took some pics with my camara, but the pics I thought they just wern't really showing its true amazingness. So I got my bro who is in third year film school to take some good pics, with his lighting skills. the Kit is a PDP LX series, 5 piece in tobacco burst. And I am so happy with it. It sounds amazing, and it was just the kinda look I was going for. I had played a crappy kit for 7 years, and I finaily got a job and saved all summer and bought this kit. I was very picky at what I wanted, and when I played and saw this kit and it was in my price rage I knew it was for me. tell me what you think!

18x22" bass drum, 8x10”, 9x12”, 12x14” toms and 5x14” snare drum

Beautiful kit!!!!

Really beautiful.

Nice, artsy pics, too!

Really good looking set man! PDP has made some good kits. Is the LX series discontinued now?

Very nice. For the $$$, they really are great sounding kits. Was thinking of selling mine but decided to keep it and save for my next kit. Congratulations !!!

thanks! yes I do beleive the LX is discontinued. But it seems I still can by the add ons (8" x 7" tom-tom and and 14 x 16 floor tom) on the internet.which I'm planning on doing eventually .

Nice tight set up. It looks like you can just fly around that kit. Interesting ride cymbal choice. Your crashes are a little on the lighter side and you have a ride that will cut your head off. How does the Z compare/contrast to the rest of the cymbals? I imagine it has a lot of "ping" with very little wash. I'm not picking at it or anything, I had a Z mega bell ride at one time.

The set up looks great!

nice i got a pdp mx and love it its the same as the lx but in a different finish. I ordered an add on 8x7 tom at guitar center.... i had to do a special order because they are discontinued but you better hurry up because i e-mailed a guy from dw and said they are going to stop making add on toms for mx, lx, and cx at the end of this year.

Great kit and cool pix. I firmly believe it is hard to find a better kit for the money the any of the PDP maple kits. I owned a CX for a while and really loved it.

Enjoy!

well funny you mention that cymbal, beacause its actaully not mine, I'm just borrowing it indefinitely. At first I wasn't sure about its heavyness, but then after playing it for a few of days I fell in love with it, and love its loud bell, and tone. But i'm testing it on a gig coming up, where I'm going to be playing with two fiddlers, a piano, and a cello playing some fiddling music, and see if it fits in.
