Daniel Glass . origin of the "Purdie shuffle"

Wow, outstanding video. I hadn't seen that one before, and I follow Daniel's work pretty closely. Thanks so much for posting!

Interesting stuff, but I really feel for that cymbal on his right hand side, it looks like most of the excess energy is going into the stand!

Funnily enough, this being a Crescent video and all, I wasn't really feeling the cymbal sounds at all.
Playing was really good!

Awesome stuff but superstition being a half time shuffle?

To me it's more reminiscent of Sex Machine which was a couple of years earlier...

anyone else agree?

You know he's from Georgia (the south) when he says "yall" ;)

Great video, of course. I love learning anything about the great Purdie. Thanks for the share!

Years ago, when my band decided to learn Jeff Becks "Freeway Jam",off the "Blow By Blow" album..I had to learn that shuffe or actually a slight variation of it.

I came pretty close to most of Richard Baily's drum parts, but not his feel.
