My kits...

Hey everyone! New to the forum, thought I'd post pics of my gear. My current living situation doesn't allow me to set them up in a luxuriously sized room, so I've taken pictures of them at my most recent gigs.

Cheers!
Dan Baerg

Like it! I'm big on "working man drumsets" myself and have been getting by with a ride crash and hats for a good two years now with a 5-piece kit. There's so much you can do with that before you add anything else. Oh yeah, and a cowbell is a necessity too!

Very nice, and welcome... About how far above the 2nd rack tom would you say you place your ride? I am still trying to find a sweet spot that does not kill my shoulder on long riding songs but also does not interfere with rolling through the toms.

It might not look like it from the picture, but I do sit fairly high, and so my toms and snare, while flat, feel very ergonomic. As a result, my ride isn't actually very high at all.
As for distance and height above the 2nd rack tom, I honestly couldn't tell you...I just set it up however it feels comfortable. I make sure though to keep it high enough above the 2nd rack tom so that I can really lay into crashing it without fear of it clipping the hoop. Hope that helps a little!
