So after about a month and a half of owning my new 20" Paiste Giant Beat Crash, I have some pictures.
I haven't actually played it because of my back. In fact, I haven't played in months because of how bad my throne is, I have to save up for a new one.
But the crash sounds very bright, medium sustain, and LOUD! It complements my GB ride perfectly, hopefully they will be joined by a 18" GB crash by the end of the year.

How do you like those giant beats? I looked into them but there wern't enough choices for my liking and i like to have all the same series.

Well I can only really comment on the ride.

I love the ride, it looks beautiful, it's light, washy, nice stick definition in live situations, loud, killer bell, and a nice crash. I use it for Classic Rock, Blues, and Jazz, and I think it suits those perfectly.

Even if it won't match, I highly recommend it

Don't people like my Giraffe drums anymore!

They're unique! I like the idea, but I can only imagine what the layer of insulation on the outside of the shells is doing to the resonance...

There's an old Ludwig set at a store here in Portland that somebody wrapped in a thick, wooly black fur. It passed the "tap test" for tone, but it sure didn't ring out for very long...

I don't think it has done anything to the resonance from what I can tell. They still ring out as beautifully as they did when they were bare.

The wrap isn't taped on like it was before, so it's held on by the lugs and is pretty loose on the shell
