Show off your TAMA !

A little update of mine. Octobans still need painted yet, just waiting for warmer weather to arrive. It's becoming almost impossible to get overhead shots inside anymore!

Will you attempt the sparkle stripe on the octabons?

Yeah, I already have metal flake and a matching paint mixture for the white. Just waiting for warmer weather. It might be hard to tell but all the hardware with the exception of the hoops have been replaced with black nickel so it will be a close match when done.

Almost half of my 1991 Rockstar DX kit. I play the 22 14 18 live and have the other 22 and the 12 16 at the rehearsal studio. There's also the 8 10 serving as shelf art.

I put up the set after some time it spent on the top of a room closet.

Some fresh pictures of my Tama Granstar in original white wrap and most likely from 1987 due to low serial numbers. A former rental kit in London UK and seen a lot of gigs/recordings in various setups.

I wanted a Lars Ulrich Justice for all area setup and that is what I found (the drums only, everything else came later) in 2003.

Rack toms: 12,13,14,15
Floor toms: 16*16, 16*18
Bass drums: 16*24

Snare: AW216 6 1/2 early '90s
Stands: Tama HC104TB
Cymbals so far: Zildjian A 17 medium crash, 18 inch China, Meinl 8 inch splash
Hihat: Zildjian dyno beat 14 inch
Hardware: Tama

I do wonder how it was so easy to do one search on yahoo for the location of the drums. That was all it took. I got the story that it was meant for DIO but Vinnie Appice says no so who else??

It is yet to be confirmed but Lars was only seen in this staged ad with this kit for the new Granstar line in 1987. He was in London with those bass drum skins + snare from the Superstar he took with him and played and so was now my kit.

This was my monster from a few years back. Rockstar DX and Rockstar's slapped together. 10/12/13/14/16/22

But I've moved and don't quite have the room for all of it so I'm rolling with this at the moment. 12/14/20 Leftovers sadly stacked in the corner.

But honestly as much fun as a five tom roll is, I'm really enjoying the simpler kit.

Yes, I patiently wait for a second china :)
EDIT: In my previous post the set was jut put together for photo purposes. This is more of a 'real thing' :)

I hope the weighted boom stand will hold up that splash. A little overkill maybe.
