Hey Drummerworld Fam!
I'm unashamedly sort of a sucker for online drum lessons- I commonly binge watch Mike Johnston, Orlando Drummer, Drumeo, Stephens Drum Shed, and of course my good friend Nathaniel Smith at The 80/20 Drummer.
I recently realized (a "duh/ah hah" moment) that in addition to graciously spreading drum knowledge, these guys are all simultaneously focusing their own practicing, and getting things to the high level demanded by the expectation of sharing it with the world. There are a lot of things I detest about the internet, but sharing drum knowledge- and striving to get better together- is not one of them.
So! Long story short, I'll be posting a lot of videos on youtube from here on out that are some combination of exercises, licks, grooves, technique etc., and sharing them here. I really love the online drum communities I'm a part of (Drummerworld for example) and want to add to that overall community. Hopefully you all will feel inspired to participate in some way- but if not, I can only hope that you get something out of the videos! I attended a Mark Guiliana drum intensive workshop today, and as I like to practice things that feel fresh and relevant to my life, I'll be sharing some of the exercised we talked about in the clinic very soon. Thanks y'all!
