my friend had a kit set up like these. I challenged myself to play it in its existing configuration, then i changed it.
also, those pearl arms are useable, and i dont see anything wrong with steep tom angles if you sit low and have a bigger bass drum than you want.

OK, I've been gone too long, and by gum, people here in the great Pacific Northwest are still no smarter, judging by this quick glance through Craigslist.
1) Toms look okay, but who taught you how to put up cymbals? Also: Your floor tom called. Wants to be closer.
2) Seconds later, it just fell over. Ka-Thump.
3) The crazy cymbal setup guy strikes again. What, does the guy standing beside the kit hit the crash?
4) I will give the first person who sets their kit up like this and manages through the entire song $50 in cash.
5) And so I'm still staring at this picture wondering what limb goes where.
6) Actual distance from far left of kit to far right of kit: 1.7 kilometers. Must be an Olympic gymnast to play both pedals as it requires the splits.
7) You know what this good-looking kit needs? An unexplainable empty space right in the middle!

Finally got to post some of these...
Just loving this config... must be so easy to play. No wonder they're getting rid of the kit.
